It’s been a while since we’ve last posted….but not becuase not all has been going on! The summer has been busy for us. Maylee switched day cares after we finally got accepted into my work’s day care center. She transitioned really well and already has 2 boys that have taken to her, both of which look like they could be her twin brothers. Over the past few weeks, she has been talking up a storm and learning new words every day, like “wawa” (water), “baba” (bottle) and my favorite of course “cap ca cap” (cap-cun-ca, which is Thai for “thank you.”). My parents, mostly my mom, speaks Thai to her all the time, so Maylee hopefully will be speaking Thai, Spanish and English by the time she’s three! And another one of our favorites that Maylee says is “Woah!”
Our house is still on the market with a sprinkling of showings here and there, but no offers as of yet. We remain hopeful that our lucky buyers will come along soon. In the meantime, Trevor tore down the existing screened porch we had and built a bigger and better permanent screened in porch, and of course did it in record time of less than 5 days, just in time for our annual Fourth of July BBQ. Trevor and I and several of our friends ran the Peachtree Road Race in the morning and we all relaxed in the afternoon with drinks, tons of food and of course life size Jenga. Unfortunately, we didn’t take any pictures of this year’s festivities, but it was a great day with family and friends.
Trevor and were also able to take a mini vacation to Asheville, North Carolina, a birthday present to me for turning 30 (again.) Asheville was a great city – only about 3 hours from Atlanta, and definitely one of the most laid back cities we have ever visited. It was super casual, artsy and really focused on loving and respecting the earth. We spent two nights there, enjoying the people, food and local breweries (one of the things Asheville is known for). We’ll definitely return back again!
