Easter time April 8, 2012

We had a great weekend spending time with family and friends.  Our friends Becky and Shaun hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for several kiddos and they had a blast!  It was Maylee’s first egg hunt and she was so excited.  After the hunt, we headed up to Gainesville to have brunch with the Hosch family at Mama’s place.  Maylee got her fill of Easter basket goodies and spending time with everyone.  Mama got lots and lots of hugs also from Maylee!  On Sunday, the Siribunrits and Hoschs met up for our annual Easter brunch, this year at Horseradish Grill.   The afternoon ended with yet another Easter egg hunt at our neighbors.

Pumpkin Patch October 25, 2011

A few of our friends headed to Berry Patch Farms for some pumpkin patch fun…the kiddos had a blast. Maylee loved squatting on as many big pumpkins as she could and them chucking the baby pumpkins across the field.  We went on a few hay rides and laughed at smelly piggies and gobbling turkeys.  What a great day!

Our Annual Trip to Seaside September 5, 2011

We headed to Seaside for our annual beach trip with friends this year this past week.  Unfortunately, there was a tropical storm in the near area, so we were only able to enjoy a few days of sun during our 6 day stay.  But we made the most of it by playing games, letting the kids run around and cooking up yummy culinary cuisine!  This year, Greg and Heidi (and their little boy Kendrick) went, along with Jennie & Matt, John & Diana and Roger & Karen (and their little girl Riley).  All in all, we had a great time and are looking forward to next year!

Congrats to the newly married couple August 22, 2011

Our close friends Eric and Lisa got hitched this weekend!  It was a beautiful wedding (all designed by Miss Lisa herself) and it was wonderful to share in their special day. The wedding was held at Ventanas which was on the rooftop of a downtown building allowing gorgeous views of the city’s skyline.  Maylee had the important job of flower girl and she did beautifully!  Congrats Eric and Lisa to a long and happy marriage!  Trevor and I also celebrated our 6 year anniversary on Saturday. It’s been an amazing 6 years so far and we’re enjoying every minute!

Days of Summer July 10, 2011

It’s been a while since we’ve last posted….but not becuase not all has been going on! The summer has been busy for us.  Maylee switched day cares after we finally got accepted into my work’s day care center.  She transitioned really well and already has 2 boys that have taken to her, both of which look like they could be her twin brothers.  Over the past few weeks, she has been talking up a storm and learning new words every day, like “wawa” (water), “baba” (bottle) and my favorite of course “cap ca cap” (cap-cun-ca, which is Thai for “thank you.”).  My parents, mostly my mom, speaks Thai to her all the time, so Maylee hopefully will be speaking Thai, Spanish and English by the time she’s three!  And another one of our favorites that Maylee says is “Woah!”

Our house is still on the market with a sprinkling of showings here and there, but no offers as of yet.  We remain hopeful that our lucky buyers will come along soon.  In the meantime, Trevor tore down the existing screened porch we had and built a bigger and better permanent screened in porch, and of course did it in record time of less than 5 days, just in time for our annual Fourth of July BBQ.   Trevor and I and several of our friends ran the Peachtree Road Race in the morning and we all relaxed in the afternoon with drinks, tons of food and of course life size Jenga.  Unfortunately, we didn’t take any pictures of this year’s festivities, but it was a great day with family and friends.

Trevor and were also able to take a mini vacation to Asheville, North Carolina, a birthday present to me for turning 30 (again.)  Asheville was a great city – only about 3 hours from Atlanta, and definitely one of the most laid back cities we have ever visited.  It was super casual, artsy and really focused on loving and respecting the earth. We spent two nights there, enjoying the people, food and local breweries (one of the things Asheville is known for).   We’ll definitely return back again!

Our Little Easter Bunny April 24, 2011

The Easter bunny came to visit us this year again as the family celebrated getting together at Anthony’s restaurant in Atlanta. It was so great having all of the family together, especially since Jason and Meghan visited from Florida. That same weekend our good friends Matt and Jennie got hitched in Jasper, Georgia. Their wedding was amazing and it was so special to share in their joyous occasion.  All in all, it was a fabulous weekend with family and friends!

Love (and Spring) is in the Air March 1, 2011

Love is definitely in the air this year!  We have several close friends that are getting married in 2011.  First up was Marc and Cheryl who got married in White Plains, New York over President’s Day weekend.  It was a beautiful wedding and it was so special to share in their special day!

Jennie and Matt are getting married in April and Lisa and Eric are getting hitched in August, so some of us Atlanta girls threw a bachelorette party (Atlanta style) to kick off the wedding festivities.  It was a fabulous girls night out with sushi, drinks and dancing!

And Jenny and Roger are getting married in June in Ridgefield, CT so more to come on that exciting news!

Maylee started walking up a storm in mid February also at about 15 months.  She is still pretty cautious about it, but is definitely getting the hang of it. Currently, her vocabulary consists of Da Da, Ding Dong and wija- wija – wija (not sure what that means).   Each and every day she is getting more aware of her surroundings….Now when she looks in the mirror, she realizes it is actually her and not some other cute little girl looking back at her!  She’s been eating like a hippo, with two breakfasts being the norm. Now that the weather has been getting warmer, we’ve been making our afternoon walks part of our daily ritual.  Spring is right around the corner!

Gobble, Gobble! November 25, 2010

Each year we gather at my parents house to celebrate Thanksgiving.  This is one of my FAVORITE holidays because it’s all about family and being together and what could be better than that?  Well, tack on some amazing food, cooking and lounging around the house and it gets even better!  We had a wonderful Turkey day this year…..we ate a lot and ended the day with a walk with kiddies and Brighton.  What a great day!

Happy Birthday Maylee! November 19, 2010

Wow, our little girl has turned one!  This year did seem to go by quickly, but not so fast where we couldn’t enjoy every moment of watching our little girl grow up.  Just yesterday we were rocking her back and forth so gently to be sure she didn’t wake up while we transferred her to the crib…and now, she is scooting around and almost walking. She has been such an absolute joy in our life – words cannot even describe it.  To celebrate her birthday, we plan on throwing a birthday party for her with family and close friends.  More to come!

Heading to Cali November 15, 2010

Trev and I visited California this past weekend to visit good friends and go wine tasting. Orla and Brad just had a beautiful girl Brie and it was so wonderful to finally meet the little munchkin.  She is just precious and takes after her mommy and daddy so much.  On Saturday, we headed up to wine country for the annual Wine and Food Affair, an event that Trevor and I have been keeping our eye on for a few years, but finally were able to make it happen this year.  It’s a two day festival in the Russian River Valley/Dry Creek/Healdsburg area of Sonoma that focuses on wine and food pairing – a match made in heaven! And that’s exactly what is was.  Hannah came for a bit on Saturday too to join in the fun. On the tail end of our trip we walked around San Francisco and hit up Chinatown for some dim sum.  We had a great time in California and hope to visit again soon!
