The holiday season is always a special time of the year for us.  We spend Christmas with Trevor’s side of the family, just enjoying being with each other, eating, and laughing  Trevor and I have a tradition of hosting dinner at our house on Christmas Eve and this year was no different. Everyone came over and we enjoyed a big feast.  Then we spent the next Day at Trevor’s parents house – the day was filled with yummy food, good company, stockings in the morning and just being with each other!

At my one month appointment check in on 12/18/09 I weighed in at 7 lbs, 8 oz. and was 20 inches long!   I’m a little peanut since that is about in the 10th percentile.

Maylee is 2 weeks old and she’s growing up sooooo fast already!  She has been gaining weight (about an ounce a day) so she’s finally starting to fit into her newborn clothes now. We actually had to go out and buy a bunch of preemie outfits for her since nothing fit her when we got home from the hospital! She’s been such a good baby and each day I love her more and more!

We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!  Trevor and I are so grateful to have Maylee in our life and to have such an amazing family and group of friends.  Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays, and this year was so very special to say the least. We had both of our families present, including, my parents, Trevor’s parents, Trev’s grandmother Mama and my sister…Oh, and we can’t forget about Brighton!   This year, our good friends also joined us – Heidi & Greg,  their little boy Kendrick, and Diana & John.  My mom hosts the day at her house and she always says “the more, the merrier!”  My Mom and Estelle did a fabulous job preparing all the food and we had a feast full of turkey and all the fixins’!  Here are some of our favorite pics from Turkey Day….

Today Maylee is one week old! It’s hard to imagine that she arrived just one week ago at 5 lbs and 12 oz.  We left the hospital on Thursday and since then have been settling in at home.  It’s nice to have one more female in the house since I was outnumbered by all the boys!  The animals have been curious to scope out the new addition to our family.  Friends and family have been stopping by to meet the little one…she has been spending her days eating and sleeping and then eating then sleeping some more  - it’s definitely her favorite things to do….oh, and she LOVES being wrapped up like a burrito in something warm and fuzzy after feeding time.   Here are some of the latest and greatest pictures of her!

Going Shopping

Referencing my earlier post, I guess I was completely off on my prediction that Baby Hosch wouldn’t come early!  I got back from grocery shopping on Sunday afternoon (November 15th) ready for a relaxing afternoon of watching football, only to be suprised by my water breaking in the kitchen soon after.  Within one hour I was in the hospital with strong contractions.   She was still breech so I knew I had to have a C-section, and we soon found out that I would need to be put under general anesthesia due to a blood clotting disorder I had and some potential complications I could experience with having an epidural. Both Trevor and I were worried and everything was happening SO fast, but we wanted to do what would be safest for both me and the baby.  My contractions were getting so strong and close together that the doctors agreed that they needed to get me in the Operating Room as soon as possible. So, at 9:10pm, Baby Hosch entered the world!   She was just a little peanut weighing in at 5 lbs, 12 ounces and she was 17 inches long.  She is just the most precious thing in the world to us and we’re so in love with her!  It took us a day and half to name her, but we finally decided on her name - meet “Maylee Joy Hosch”, the new addition to our growing family

I’m a little over 38 weeks now!  So far, no contractions or signs that “Plum Blossom” will come early….the Doctor says she is about 6.5 pounds. We head to the hospital on Tuesday morning so will post pics of our little girl as soon as we can

The countdown has now begun till we get to meet our little Bundle of Joy.  It’s hard to imagine that we will be holding her in less than 3 weeks!  Trevor and I plan to take the next few weeks to relax (and sleep) as much as we can, spend time with friends and family and just enjoy peaceful quiteness since we know it won’t last for too much longer.  I’ve been feeling great and have had a good amount of energy.  It’s amazing to think that there is a tiny being growing inside of me and it’s so neat to know that she responds when I talk to her.  During my last ultrasound, Baby Hosch weighed in around 5.5 pounds, and the doctor laughed and said she had a “whole lotta of hair…like a mop!”   She is still in the breech position, so we’re hoping that she will show us some gymnastic moves and turn! The doctors say although unlikely, it’s still possible! Regardless I have a c-section planned for November 17th.   My mom said I didn’t turn until her way to the delivery room, so who knows?….maybe our baby is just like her mommy

A lot of my friends have been asking to see pics of how my belly is growing, so I added a few pictures here.  I probably didn’t start popping till about 19 weeks …it must be all the frozen yogurt and smores I have been consuming also!
